Supporting Mind
with every step

Trail Escape is partnering with Mind to celebrate the benefits that getting active in nature can bring to our mental health and wellbeing.

Mind is supporting Trail Escape’s mission to create trail events that encourage people to explore the beauty of the countryside for their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Together, we’ll encourage people to enjoy a moment away from everyday pressures by taking to the trails.

Trail Escape will donate £10 from every marathon event registration fee and £5 from every 25km event registration fee to Mind (registered charity number 219830).

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND MENTAL HEALTH

Physical activity has so many benefits for our overall wellbeing. It can boost confidence, improve mood, help you sleep better and even reduce the risk of depression.

It can also help you feel confident and empowered. Being active can allow you to set and achieve goals. Seeing what you’re able to do can help you feel proud of yourself too.

NATURE AND MENTAL HEALTH

Spending time in nature has been found to help with mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.

Being outside in natural light can be helpful if you experience seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a type of depression that affects people during particular seasons or times of year.

How nature helps me

Hill walking and camping help to keep depression and anxiety at bay for my partner, as does trekking and gentle hill walking for me. When you are in nature your mind is free of the daily stresses and you can spend your time being in the moment instead. - Mind beneficiary

The daily walking helps me organise my thoughts, and become more aware of my environment.
- Mind beneficiary

I've been getting out into nature and walking, to manage my bipolar disorder for years. It helps to keep me calm and physically healthy, and I love taking the time to be mindful of all the beautiful green spaces around me, even when living in a city. - Mind beneficiary

GO FURTHER AND FUNDRAISE

Nobody should face a mental health problem alone. Why not fundraise for Mind while training for your marathon or 25km? There are so many different ways you can make a difference.
